This Oil Painting relates to a sad wee tale.
The story is true and documented. Once upon a time........ no not going there.
John Gray died in 1858 and his faithful dog, a Skye Terrier named Bobby,
lay every day on his master's grave only leaving for food
until he himself died 14 years later.

They are both buried in Greyfriars Kirk behind the pub.
Disney made a film about this topic.
